The girl who had a custard tart by rosie w

One day in a grey dull work house a young girl Morgan
Spent her day slaving from dusk till dawn she had no happiness in her life.
She dreamed of money and nice food to eat. Every day she got one pound and when
She had enough she went out for a custard tart. When Morgan tasted it
She said it tasted like coal! She went back home and told her mum that it tasted like coal. Her mum said next time she would bake her one. Her mum baked her the custard tart. Morgan said it tasted great.

  1. A nice effort, Rosie. You have described poor Morgan’s situation well and the reader feels so sorry for her – especially when she has the disappointment of the tart tasting like coal! Do you see how often you use the word “she”? It’s a good idea to use several ways of telling the reader who you are writing about – how about “the poor girl” or “this unhappy child”? Well done, Rosie, keep writing for 100WC.
